8. Porta Wine & Tapas Bar

Unusually, this is one restaurant where you don’t have to book. Porta is an independent tapas bar and is walk-in (or take-out) only.. but it’s a popular venue so bear that in mind when you go.  A quick look at the menu and we are salivating at the thought of the Andalucian-style fried squid with alioli and the Basque burnt cheesecake with Bramley apple compote to follow.

Alongside the wide range of delicious tapas they offer an extensive drinks menu that includes Sherry, Sangria, Spanish beers and Cava. Porta is open on Sundays from noon to 9pm.
