It was a chilly morning in Chester City centre, but the Chester Christmas Elves were out and about, spreading festive cheer to passengers on the Park and Ride service.
Maria Byrne, Director of Place Operations for the Council, said “We are all looking forward to the wonderful Christmas Parade on Thursday evening and it is great to have a sneak preview of the Elves travelling on the Park and Ride buses, as they get ready for the festive fun.
“The Council has extended the Park and Ride service on Thursday evenings leading up to Christmas, with buses running every 12 minutes to 9pm. And now passengers can buy before they ride, with a range of tickets available on the Stagecoach Bus App. Choosing to travel on the Park and Ride bus services into the city helps reduce our carbon emissions and offers a better value way for families and visitors to travel into the City centre, this Christmas.”
Emily Ghazarian, Marketing and Events Manager at CH1ChesterBID added “Our Christmas Elves, ChELFie and ELFie, always bring smiles to people’s faces. It was great to see them out and about on the Park and Ride buses, on their way to the 12 Days of Christmas Parade. Christmas in Chester is full of festive fun this year with Chester’s Gingerbread Village, fantastic food outlets, and the amazing Christmas Market, along with our city’s brilliant mix of high street brands and independent retailers.
“Taking the Park and Ride buses into the City centre helps to reduce the traffic congestion and carbon emissions and is a great value for the family. We want all our visitors to have a safe and enjoyable Christmas Parade event this Thursday and a great experience in our wonderful City this Christmas”.
