Chester Visual Arts: Re-Store Exhibition

Chester Visual Arts is excited to present Re-Store, a powerful new exhibition featuring works by 11 acclaimed artists from the North West, each of whom has channelled personal journeys of restoration and healing into stunning, thought-provoking art. The exhibition is being held in the former H&M unit at The Grosvenor Shopping Centre (CH1 1DE), open to the public from 6–24 November, 11am-4pm Wednesday through Saturday, and 12pm to 4pm on Sundays.

“This exhibition truly highlights the resilience and creativity of our regional artists,” said Alistair Tucker, newly appointed Chair of the Chester Visual Arts Board. “Re-Store is a celebration of the power of art to heal and inspire, and we’re thrilled to offer this platform for artists to share their journeys of personal healing.”

Re-Store showcases a range of media, including sculpture, textiles, and surface materials, with each piece embodying a deeply personal story of renewal and reflection. Featured artists include Raphaëlle Jones, Jill Walker, Joanne Risley, Debbie Nairn, Norman Payne, Suze Schneider, Lucy Elizabeth Jones, Andy Ball, Helen Lydon, Glen Farrelly, and Sarah J Caddick.

Participating artist Helen Lydon shared her excitement and gratitude at being part of Re-Store: “It’s an honour to contribute to this exhibition. Each work in Re-Store speaks to the resilience and beauty that can arise from creatively responding to challenging times and deeply felt experiences. I’m proud to be part of this shared journey. It’s a privilege to be involved in a collective that celebrates healing through art.”

Alistair continues: “This marks the fourth exhibition Chester Visual Arts has hosted in this space, and we’re honoured to reclaim and repurpose this retail unit as an open art venue enhancing Chester’s cultural scene while providing opportunities for artists. I would like to pay tribute to Juliet Cook & Hannah Wehbeh and all their hard work and expertise that has made this exhibition possible. ”
