Dinner with Jonathan Agnew MBE
The Chester Grosvenor to Host Michelin-Starred Dinner with Jonathan Agnew MBE. THURSDAY 28th FEBRUARY 2019, 7PM – £65
Jonathan Agnew MBE, English cricket broadcaster and former professional cricketer, will be speaking at The Chester Grosvenor’s Captain’s Club dinner on Thursday 28th February.
Following the success of the hotel’s inaugural Captain’s Club dinner in October, hosted by Head Coach of Wales National Rugby Union team Warren Gatland, the event will be the second of a series of Captain’s Club dinners which are hosted by a variety of guest speakers who have risen to prominence in sporting careers. Tickets can be purchased online, personalised and gifted, just in time for Christmas.
Jonathan will be recounting tales from his illustrious career in the world of cricket, following a three-course meal prepared by Michelin-starred chef Simon Radley, accompanied by a half bottle of Sommelier’s choice wine.
Born in Cheshire, Agnew had a successful first-class career as a fast bowler for Leicestershire from 1979 to 1990, returning briefly in 1992. While still a player, Agnew embarked upon a career in cricket journalism and commentary. Since his retirement as a player, he has become a leading voice of cricket on radio, as the BBC Radio cricket correspondent and as a commentator on Test Match Special.
General Manager of The Chester Grosvenor, Richard Grove, comments: “We’re delighted to welcome Mr Agnew to The Chester Grosvenor for the second of our Captain’s Club dinners. With a fascinating career spanning almost four decades, we’re sure that his experiences will inspire our guests and make for a thoroughly enjoyable evening.”
Captain’s Club with Jonathan Agnew takes place on Thursday 28th February at 7pm. Tickets cost £65 and include a three-course meal prepared by Executive Chef, Simon Radley, accompanied by a half-bottle of Sommelier’s choice wine. To book, Click Here: or email Events@ChesterGrosvenor.com.
