The Curated Closet at the Grosvenor Museum
July 24 - December 5Free
The story of fashion is all about how people embraced the times, altering their fashion depending on wars, recessions and pandemics to suit the materials that were readily available.
To explore the inspiration behind these historic designs of its Historic Costume Collection, Chester’s Grosvenor Museum is holding a FREE, fascinating ‘Curated Closet’ exhibition. A fun fashion ‘catwalk’ will display clothes, jewellery and accessories from the 20th century from its collection of over 3000 items.
At the same time, its sister museum, the multi award-winning Lion Salt Works Museum in Northwich will be taking a fresh look at bridal dresses through the decades using stunning photographs of some of the Grosvenor’s historic wedding dresses collection. Normal admission prices for visiting the Lion Salt Works Museum apply.
