Mococo founder Maureen Hooson knows more than a thing or two about fine jewellery.
After working for Boodles for 21 years, she and husband Lee launched the Mococo brand in 2006 and it’s fair to say they’ve been taking the UK jewellery scene by storm ever since.
The Chester-based branch – situated in the heart of the city not far from the Eastgate Clock – is the brand’s flagship store and boasts a wide range of luxury jewellery. They include Chlobo, Pandora, Daisy, Thomas Sabo, Shaun Leane and Clogau among many others.
We caught up with the store’s assistant manager, Stacy Picken, to find out what really makes Mococo sparkle:
“I think for us, it’s all about putting the personal service back into jewellery purchasing. It’s an ethos that both Maureen and Lee have instilled in the business since day one and it flows through everyone that works here, as well as the other six stores we have across the North West.
“Coffee or prosecco is available for our customers whilst they browse our collections, which I think adds to the whole experience.
“We work with some of the finest jewellery designers in the world but offer products at high street prices, so it’s the best of both worlds. But it’s the personal service that we’ve built the brand on and it means customers come back to us again and again.”
With the countdown to Valentine’s Day well and truly underway, the store is already seeing an increase in customer interest – particularly for the new Brown & Newirth range of engagement and wedding rings.
Stacy added: “It’s a fantastic range we’ve only just started to offer but it’s already proving very popular. It’s possible to get any ring from the Brown & Newirth range engraved with a personalised message and that’s definitely a trend we’re seeing at the moment. It’s also possible to have these rings in any chosen metal, and with any size carat and cut.
“They’re absolutely stunning so for anyone looking to pop the question this Valentine’s Day, I’d definitely recommend coming to take a look at the new range!”
