Lucky city centre visitors were surprised with free coffee, lunch and complimentary gifts, as CH1ChesterBID’s Welcome Ambassadors helped the city celebrate Random Acts of Kindness Day.
Dressed in their three-piece suits and ‘Kindness Crew’ caps, Luka Jake-Morrell and Monica Roman spent the day spreading thoughtful acts of kindness to people on Chester’s high street.
A number of city centre businesses joined in the celebration too, including Hotel Chocolat, Greggs and Paperchase, where BID purchased the products and gifts for consumers.
Judy Tagell, Marketing Manager at CH1ChesterBID, said: “We always want our visitors to enjoy the best of Chester and want their experiences to exceed expectations. This positive welcome is a huge part of Monica and Luka’s day-to-day job, so we wanted to use Random Acts of Kindness Day to take that one step further!
“From free lunches to complimentary coffees, we hope our Welcome Ambassadors brightened up everyone’s February afternoon, and showed what a friendly city Chester is!”
CH1ChesterBID’s welcome team has been giving Chester visitors a warm welcome, pointing out local landmarks and attractions and guiding people around the city centre since November 2015.
They’ve engaged with more than 90,000 visitors in that time and also play an important role keeping the city centre safe and attractive by working closely with CH1ChesterBID’s City Centre Manager, Nick White.
