Chester’s Park and Ride customers can now download the Stagecoach Bus APP and buy a range of tickets for the low emissions bus service.
Maria Byrne, Director of Place Operations for the Council, said “Park and Ride is a quick, simple and environmentally friendly way of getting about our city and with tickets now available on the Stagecoach App, passengers can easily purchase the day return ticket and the bundle ticket which offers six tickets for the price of five.”
“We have received really positive feedback from customers who are already using the APP and contactless payments and over the coming weeks we will be adding more saver and flexible tickets to make Park and Ride work for everyone. The buses run every 12 minutes Monday to Saturday and every 15 mimutes on a Sunday, so it’s easy to travel right into the city centre this Chrsitmas and skip the traffic.”
Rob Jones, Managing Director of Stagecoach Merseyside and South Lancashire commented, “Sales on APPs worldwide have increased by over 40% year on year to in excess of £40bn. We have seen the Stagecoach APP ticket sales increase by over 60% in the past year and over 250% in the past two years. Introducing the Chester Park and Ride tickets on the mobile APP is working well and giving customers the choice to buy their tickets before they travel from home, or on the move.”
The Council has also extended the service to help commuters, visitors and shoppers travel more easily into the city centre, throughout the build up to the busy Christmas period. The service will be extended on Thursday evenings from 21st November, and from Monday 16th December until the end of service on Christmas Eve.”
