It’s the final meeting of the Chester Racecourse season this Saturday, as the Roodee plays host to the Golden Square Shopping Centre Season Finale on the 28th of September. This celebratory event draws 15 days of racing and another season at Chester to a close. Thousands are set to walk through the gates from 11.30am on Saturday for the final racing hurrah of 2018.
Seven races are set to entertain the crowds, beginning with The Boodles EBF Novice Auction Stakes at 2pm. The feature race of the afternoon is The Golden Square Nursery Handicap Stakes at 3:10pm, with a prizemoney fund of over £20,000. Racing concludes at 5.30pm with The 1539 Handicap Stakes.
In addition to the action on turf, Title Sponsors Golden Square Shopping Centre will be running two special prize draws during the day. Simply purchase a racecard on arrival for just £3 or visit the flower wall in the Paddock to find out more about the prizes on offer.

Capital Breakfast presenter Ben Sheppard will be entertaining the crowds with a DJ set from the Pavilion Lawn throughout the day and it’s the final opportunity to enter the Buffalo Trace competition to win a trip to the Kentucky Derby!
Out on the Open Course there will be free activities on offer for younger racegoers including crafts, face painting and giant garden games and children aged 17 and under get into the races completely free of charge when accompanied by an adult.
