Travelbag, the long haul tailored travel specialist, has opened its latest travel agency.
The 107 square metre shop, located at 42 Bridge Street, Chester, is Travelbag’s seventh nationwide and the first it has opened in the city. It is staffed by a team of six expert travel consultants and manager Harrison Steven – who between them have visited nearly 50 countries around the world, and boast over 60 years’ experience in selling travel. The agency is open to customers between 9am – 6pm on Monday and from Wednesdays to Saturdays, 9.30am-6pm on Tuesdays and between 10am-5pm on Sundays.
Travelbag is planning a number of celebratory events and activities to mark the occasion. These include a grand opening weekend over 1st – 2nd June, where residents, visitors and customers can win Travelbag-branded goodies and even a holiday for two to Australia. Bookings made in the new shop by the 2nd June will also benefit from a special £100 per booking discount.
Commenting on the new shop, Travelbag’s Managing Director, Lesley Rollo, said: “It is Travelbag’s 40th anniversary this year, and it feels fitting that we’re taking the travel expertise and long haul knowledge we’ve built up over that time to a new High Street as part of our birthday celebrations. We’re very confident that the residents of Chester and beyond will love coming in to speak about their holiday ideas with our experienced team, and to be inspired by the range of destinations and types of holidays we sell and excited by the packages we can book for them.
“We look forward to seeing them now our doors are open, and especially over our grand opening weekend on the 1st – 2nd June.”
According to Travelbag’s data, Thailand was the most popular holiday choice for Chester residents in 2018, accounting for just over a quarter of all of the bookings made. The so-called ‘Land of Smiles’ is followed by the USA (18%), the Caribbean (16%), Australia (12%) and South Africa (nine per cent) as the favourite holiday locations for people from the area, with cruises accounting for around six per cent of bookings also.
Travelbag will open its eighth shop, in London, in the early summer.
