Boheme A New Culinary Destination Opens in Chester

Chester, UK – Boheme, an independent all-day dining experience, has opened its doors in Chester. With seating for 100, Boheme offers a versatile dining and socialising space that transitions seamlessly from morning coffee, dining to late-night drinks, embodying the spirit of sophisticated rebellion and community.

Owned by Andi Lowe-Smith and Ben Iles, Boheme is not just another addition to Chester’s dining scene; it is a testament to a shared vision and a passion for culinary and hospitality excellence. Chef De Patron Andi shares his vision for Boheme. He said: “We wanted to create a space that feels both luxurious and welcoming, where the art of dining is celebrated at any time of the day. Boheme is our dream come to life, where every dish tells a story, and every visit creates a memory.”

Ben adds: “Boheme is more than just a restaurant; it’s a hangout where friends and families can come together. We’ve poured our hearts into creating an atmosphere that mirrors our passion for great food, exceptional drinks, and the joy of shared experiences.”

Andi, a Michelin-trained chef with a diverse background, has a degree in fine art and significant culinary experience at prestigious establishments around the UK, including his very own Cheshire Dining Experience. Along with Head Chef Curtis Tonge, he brings a unique blend of creativity and culinary expertise to Boheme from his extensive experience in the Michelin dining sector.

The menu, inspired by seasonal produce and with a modern European feel and international influences, features produce from local suppliers such as Shorthorn Beef from Hopton’s Butchers and Cornish Monkfish from Bricklands Fishmongers.

His partnership with Ben, a fellow entrepreneur (with whom he created the Agave Thieves tequila brand) promises a dining experience that combines exquisite tastes from the bar too. Andi’s passion for pairing flavours shows in his experimental cocktail creations which feature signature creations such as a Marigold Caipirinha and a Wild Garlic Martini. The friends’ love of fine spirits from around the world also feature heavily on the impressive launch drinks menu.

Boheme’s all-day concept (from 9am-2am) is designed to cater to every occasion however; from morning coffee and freshly baked pastries starting at 9am, lunch is served from 12pm to 2.30pm, and dinner service from 6pm to 9pm Monday to Thursday and until 9.30pm on Friday and Saturday. Pinchos and snacks will be served at the bar from 12pm until late, with a Sunday menu featuring their signature roast from 12pm to 5pm. The bar is open every day until 2am.

The name Boheme, inspired by the word ‘bohemian’, reflects a philosophy of decadence and defiance, standing out in the face of modern convention. This ethos is mirrored in the establishment’s interior design, led by James Roberts Interiors. With influences from Eltham Palace, and featuring elements like walnut paneling, an Italian marble bar, specialist handmade tiles, and the iconic Moller Chair, Boheme is a feast for the senses. The preservation of ancient architectural beams and brickwork in the Grade II listed building adds a touch of Chester’s rich history to Boheme’s ambiance too.

An open kitchen, a wraparound bar with a vast range of international spirits, a finely-tuned wine cellar, and a development kitchen, highlight Boheme’s commitment to innovation. With pastries and fresh bread made on-site, the menu promises quality and attention to detail too.
