On Friday 12th July, Chester Racecourse, the oldest racecourse still in operation in the world will host its new property industry-focussed raceday, the Northern Property Raceday. The event has been created to celebrate the continuing growth of the property sector in the region – particularly in Manchester, Liverpool, Chester and Cheshire – and is expected to see high profile attendance from the real estate sector from right across the region.
Chief Executive of Chester Race Company, Richard Thomas, comments: “Given the emergence of the Northern Powerhouse as a political and economic reality, we want to celebrate and provide a platform for the real estate sector and its supply chain; showcasing the success of the sector in the region whilst also providing a platform for meaningful networking in an exclusive and prestigious environment.
“Early signs are already really promising for our inaugural event, with huge interest from the property sector throughout the region. Stakeholders include developers, agents, construction companies, chartered surveyors, architects, law firms, insurance companies and financial institutions.
“The hope is that, eventually, The Chester Racecourse Northern Property Race Day will become one of the biggest and most popular networking events in the northern property industry calendar.”
The meet will feature seven high-octane races, including The Boodles Maiden Stakes, The MBNA Handicap Stakes, The ESL Maiden Stakes and The Nursery Stakes.
The afternoon will begin at 4pm with a Champagne reception on the Festival Village Lawn, followed by a compere introducing keynote speakers from both the public and private sector. Dinner will then be served in the event Festival Chalet, where guests will begin with Salt cured pork belly followed by a delicious Roast breast of lightly smoked chicken and Treacle & ginger tart to finish.
After dinner, a silent charity auction will take place with prizes consisting of a 5-night Safari stay for two in South Africa, 2x VIP tickets to see Elton John in Leeds and a 2-night break for two in Milan to name but a few. The beneficiaries will be Tackle4MCR, whose aim is to address rough sleeping and homelessness on the streets of the Manchester city region and Share, who support families in crisis and people who are homeless in North Wales and Cheshire and assist refugees fleeing for their lives, wherever they are in the world.
