A Jurassic extravaganza is coming to Chester with a roar of family-friendly free activities to explore! We want to see you go wild by either dressing up in your best explorer outfits, or your best dino dress ups… use the hashtag #RoarsomeChester
DINO WALKABOUTS
Bumble the Brontosaurus, Zoom and Baxter the T-Rex’s will be roaming the streets of Chester on Saturday 10th August and Bumble the Brontosaurus, Zoom the T-Rex and Mega the Megalosaurus on Sunday 18th August 2024 under the watchful eyes of their Wranglers. Dinos will appear on Eastgate Street in intervals from 11am until 3pm – just look out for the orange tent!
Come along to experience these huge dinosaurs walking amongst onlookers, where you can take pictures and get up close! Wranglers will also be walking around with some baby dinos for the little ones, so get ready to have a roarsome time in Chester.
This is a free event. No tickets are required.
DINO HUNT
As Dinosaurs ventured into the city, some escaped and are hiding within businesses across the city centre! We need your help to hunt the Dinos down so we can safely return them to the Wranglers.
Download our activity sheet below or pick up from The Visitor Information Centre on Town Hall Square. The Dino Hunt will take place from the Saturday 10th August until Sunday 25th August.
The lucky winner of the Dino Hunt will receive a £50 Chester Gift Card.
SEN SESSIONS
On Monday 19th August there will also be SEN sessions of Roarsome Chester at Storyhouse in The Garret Theatre. These sessions are FREE, however, booking is essential due to limited numbers in each session.
There will be three sessions between 1:30pm until 4:15pm, with each sessions lasting 45 minutes.
At the SEN sessions children will be able to meet dinosaurs close up in a relaxed, fully accessible setting. Bumble the Brontosaurus, Zoom T-Rex and Mega the Megalosaurus will be introduced by our expert wranglers with songs, friendly theatrics and dino activities where children are free to get up and move around if they wish.
