Racegoers are set to be out in full force this Saturday as Chester Racecourse, the oldest racecourse still in operation in the world, hold their Season Finale. The day will mark the end of another remarkable racing season and toast to 480 years of racing one last time.
There will be seven exciting races taking place throughout the day, which is sponsored by CorbettSports, including the feature race; the Class 2 Incom-CNS Group 30th Anniversary Nursery Handicap Stakes, with a prize of £20,335. The first race, the Boodles EBF Novice Austion Stakes, will take place at 1:35pm and the MBNA Handicap Stakes will conclude an impressive card at 5:05pm.
Chester Racecourse raised the stakes this year both on and off the track. With the launch of a new luxury hospitality venue, Parade with Aiden Byrne, a state-of-the-art upgrade to the weighing room and jockey’s changing rooms and a 185 square metre viewing deck for Owners and Trainers.
Chief Executive of Chester Race Company, Richard Thomas comments: “The Season Finale is the perfect way to toast the end of another incredible racing season here at Chester Racecourse. We unveiled a number of new offerings this year, including our new luxurious fine-dining trackside venue, the newly refurbished weighing room and jockey’s changing rooms.
“We are constantly evolving what we have to offer and look forward to ending the 2019 season on a high. In the close season, we will be bringing all of our exciting plans for 2020 to fruition in time for the new season.”
